Permanent carbon removal and ocean ecosystem restoration

Tiny Rocks, Big Impact

Our bioengineered pebbles, Blusinkies, are uniquely able to help combat both the climate crisis and ocean degradation, restoring marine habitats and environments by enhancing and accelerating naturally occurring processes.

We're on a mission to help businesses and individuals harness the natural power of the ocean.  We are able to provide bespoke restoration and carbon removal services and can focus our data and reporting on the needs of the project.

Did you know the oceans produce ~70% of the oxygen we breathe and have absorbed up to 50% of global emissions? It’s time to give back!

Through increasing local alkalinity and pH of the surrounding water column, not only do Blusinkies remove carbon, but they support the resilience of their environment to future changes such as ocean acidification. As the Blusinkies create safe havens for marine species, they actively promote biodiversity.

This dual approach is what distinguishes Blusink - we offer a unique, holistic marine carbon removal solution that provides ocean alkalinity enhancement and sequesters carbon whilst simultaneously supporting biodiversity and revitalising degraded seabeds.

The future of the oceans, one pebble at a time

Results from our early deployment sites demonstrate consistent decreases in total dissolved inorganic carbon (DIC) and an increase in ocean pH, which is important for counteracting ocean acidification.

Our superhero of seafloor resilience and biodiversity is a species called Rhodoliths.
